Uptasia

Uptasia as logged here

Uptasia glues two genres together and gets away with it. Hidden-object scenes earn the money, and the money builds a town of factories, shops and workshops that produce goods while you are not looking.

The scenes are the active half and the town is the idle half, which makes it unusually easy to put down. Ten minutes of finding kettles funds an evening of production.

The art is warm and hand-drawn, the pace is gentle, and absolutely nothing in it can attack you.

Where it pulls ahead of the rest

  • City building
  • Hidden-object scenes
  • Steady progress

You want something genuinely relaxing with a small puzzle at its centre and a tidy progress bar behind it.

Logged as wrong if you need an opponent or a challenge curve.

What the log says about week one

Upgrade production buildings before decorations. The town pays for the scenes and the scenes get harder.

Replay easy scenes when you need money. Later scenes pay more but take three times as long to clear.
